“We were delighted to be appointed to help raise awareness of this very influential and important conference,” he said. “Polaris is one of the few maritime specialist PR firms in Europe and we have close ties to Poland through family and have been visiting Poland regularly for the last seven years. Polaris has a real understanding of Poland and for some time we have been helping Polish maritime and engineering companies with English language marketing. The forum is a brilliantly organised, well-established, hard-hitting event which brings all the major players together in one place to discuss the key issues facing Poland’s maritime sector. The forum wants to engage the global maritime sector and promote Poland’s maritime industry which is brimming with talent and opportunities, we are pleased Polaris can help support this aim.”
The Maritime Economic Forum was staged at Pomeranian Science and Technology conference centre and is now one of the biggest and most influential maritime events in Poland. The event saw representatives from Poland’s ship-building, ports, shipping, manufacturing and small business sectors attend. The forum hosted 30 speakers and witnessed a number of speeches and panels demanding action from the Polish Government and the EU to support Poland’s maritime sector – which speakers said is fundamental to the nation’s economy. Forum leader Slawomir Kalicki, President of the Gdynia-based Inter Marine Group, said the voice of the forum is getting louder each year with members of the Polish Government and the EU Commission attending the event. Closing the conference he appealed for the forum’s ‘opinions and ideas to be heard and conclusions implemented.’
Later in the evening delegates and speakers from the forum joined more than 2500 maritime professionals for the annual ‘duck dinner’ in Gdynia celebrating Poland’s maritime industry.
