Polaris Media has won a new deal to provide PR to the Maritime Media Awards in Mayfair London for the third year running.
The event now in its twenty-second year is organised by the Maritime Foundation, a UK charity dedicated to promoting Britain’s dependence on the sea. Each year the awards recognise the best in maritime related books, journalism, film and digital media.
Maritime Foundation chairman Julian Parker said: “We are pleased once again to have the support of maritime PR specialists Polaris Media who have helped raise the profile of the awards for a number of years now.
“The Maritime Media Awards first launched in 1995 and we are keen to gain the widest recognition for the journalists, authors and others whose work in the media has served to create greater public understanding of maritime issues.
“Hundreds of entries have now been whittled down to a total of 13 books which will be considered for the coveted Mountbatten Maritime Award 2017 for best literary contribution. The award is one of six honours to be handed out on the night including Best Journalist, Best Television or Film and Best Digital Media contributions of 2017.
“This has been an exceptional year for entries and we are greatly looking forward to the awards evening on November 08. This year’s submissions encompass an extraordinary range of maritime topics with intelligence, insight and expertise. We are looking to celebrate the great value this body of work brings to maritime debate on issues past and present. “
Polaris Media managing director Ben Pinnington said: “Maritime is a specialist sector for Polaris and we are proud to use our knowledge of the industry and its media to support the Maritime Media Awards. Maritime inspires enormous passion, shown again this year by the exceptional quality and breadth of work. The effort and talent of the nominees deserves greater awareness and recognition. At Polaris we see every day how important maritime is to job and wealth creation, the MMAs do a vital job at highlighting this.”
